As ESPN and ESPN Deportes wrap up their Hispanic Heritage Month celebration, ESPN Deportes’ NFL telecast team of Alvaro Martin and analyst Raul Allegre share their thoughts on how the sport is growing in the Hispanic market.
With more than 16 years of experience covering the NFL for Spanish-language media, both Martin — a native of Puerto Rico — and Allegre — a native of Mexico –have played a vital role in this trend. As a former placekicker with the Colts, Giants and Jets, two-time Super Bowl champion Allegre has unique perspective.
You can watch Martin and Allegre on ESPN Deportes’ Monday Night Football, including tonight when the Denver Broncos visit the San Diego Chargers (8:30 p.m. ET).
Editor’s note: Under the ‘One Nation, Una Nación’ branding, ESPN celebrated Hispanic Heritage Month (Sept. 15-Oct. 15) with a comprehensive programming lineup highlighting Hispanics and sports, that included profiles of Hispanic athletes, special news and information segments and live sports events. In addition, Team ESPN, the company’s corporate outreach division partnered with ESPN Deportes to give back to the Hispanic community in New York, Los Angeles and New Britain, Conn., through a series of volunteer events to help rebuild three children’s organizations in Hispanic neighborhoods.
