Fan Central Mailbag: Masters schedule update, MLB schedule additions, The Schwab

Before we get to your questions, here’s our Masters schedule for the remainder of the tournament. Today’s live coverage runs from 3:00-7:30 p.m. ET on ESPN/ESPN3/WatchESPN. An edited, encore presentation starts tonight at 8 p.m. on ESPN. Also, ESPN 3D will have three hours of live play today starting at 4:30 p.m. and 3D will also have live coverage tomorrow and Sunday beginning at 4 p.m.
Now, on to your questions:
Why does ESPN show the Yankees and Red Sox so much? In my region of country we like the Braves! Please cover them more! — Steve
Steve, the Red Sox and Yankees have been important staples of ESPN’s Major League Baseball coverage. In fact, this week’s Sunday Night Baseball game features the Orioles, making their first SNB appearance in five years, visiting the Yankees (8 p.m., ESPN). In total, however, this season’s SNB schedule features 15 different teams. In order to showcase additional teams of interest, ESPN also just added two Reds-Phillies games to next week’s schedule: Monday, April 15, at 7 p.m. and Wednesday, April 17, at 7 p.m.
As for the Braves, they’re on the SNB schedule on April 28 versus the Tigers and May 26 versus the Mets. Plus, keep this in mind: ESPN’s Monday and Wednesday night games are chosen one week ahead of time, while Sunday night game selections for the month of June, July 7 and July 28 will be made three weeks in advance. In addition, August and September game selections will be made two weeks in advance.
Who are your college baseball announcers this season? — Drew
The ESPNU Thursday Night SEC Baseball Game of the Week series will include Dave Neal on play-by-play with Kyle Peterson providing analysis. Dari Nowkhah will host the studio coverage with analysts Ben McDonald and Chris Burke.
The ACC Monday games on ESPNU will have Nowkhah on play-by-play with analyst Danny Graves. Mike Rooney will provide studio analysis. Additional game and studio analysts include Danny Kanell and Jay Walker.

I am a huge fan of UNITE and ‘The Schwab’ segment. How can I become a contestant on the show? – Huessein
For those who don’t know, in February ESPN’s sports trivia guru, Howie Schwab, who most fans know from Stump the Schwab, returned to his TV quiz ways on ESPNU’s UNITE (Midnight ET, weekdays). Since then, Schwab and UNITE co-host Reese Waters have been testing participants from different NCAA conferences each Wednesday night with questions from four categories — college sports, professional sports, pop culture and social media. The winning player from each conference will advance through a UNITE tournament bracket with the semifinals taking place April 24, May 1 and May 8. The finals will be on May 15.

Now that the NCAA 2013 football schedule has been released, can you please tell me what city ESPN’s College GameDay will be live in on the weekend of Oct. 19? I run a college football road trip and it would be neat to experience GameDay live and in person. — Warren
Sorry Warren, College GameDay locations choices are made on a weekly basis throughout the season, so no announcements have been made about Oct. 19. Please check back with us closer to that date for more information.
