LOS ANGELES – Platinum-selling recording artist Drake is ready to host the The 2014 ESPYS Presented by Capital One (9 p.m. ET, ESPN) tonight. He has spent the last several days here preparing for the show. Comedy and music definitely will be part of Drake’s game plan.

Celebrities and athletes including Jessica Alba, Cameron Diaz, Keifer Sutherland, Dan Marino and Peyton Manning will be on hand this evening to celebrate the year’s best moments in sports.

Take a moment when you’re on stage to look around and really soak it in. It’s pretty cool.
Rob Riggle on hosting the ESPYS

Comedian and actor Rob Riggle, who hosted The 2012 ESPYS and understands the preparation process, has faith that Drake will do a great job as emcee. Asked by Front Row what advice he would offer Drake, Riggle said: “Drake doesn’t need any advice…He’s gonna kill it! I would just say get as many pictures as you can. I got busy and missed a lot of opportunities.”

Riggle might have missed some snapshots, but he rarely passes on the opportunity to needle an audience. He suggests Drake make the most of his chances – and also to enjoy the moment.

“Athletes can take themselves a little serious at times. . .But screw it, they’ll be flying out to their second homes the next day, so have some fun,” Riggle said. “Take a moment when you’re on stage to look around and really soak it in. It’s pretty cool.”

Drake has proven his comic chops with previous appearances on “Saturday Night Live” and Jimmy Kimmel Live!

“This is an incredible opportunity for me to combine two of my biggest passions — sports and performing,” Drake said.

Fans can tune in tonight to catch all the action and there is still time for people to vote for their favorites up to the start of the show by visiting ESPN.com/ESPYS.
