Combat pilot Vernice “FlyGirl” Armour speaks to ESPN Veterans Group
The ESPN Veterans Group played host to Vernice “FlyGirl” Armour at its annual luncheon held during Veterans Week at the DoubleTree Hotel in Bristol, Conn. Armour, America’s first African-American female combat pilot, also spoke to members of ESPN’s Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) in a separate forum.
After completing two tours in Iraq with the U.S. Marines, she left military service to become a motivational speaker. Her message is simple and her delivery is inspiring – “One Mission, One Goal, One Team” – encouraging her audience to connect to its shared bottom line.
