The first Jimmy V Men’s Classic dates back to Dec. 22, 1995, a basketball event created in memory of the former ESPN analyst and NCAA title-winning coach Jim Valvano.
It has turned into a week of ESPN programming that has raised more than $8.2 million in seven years.
On Dec. 4, 2006, The V Foundation became endowed, allowing all donations to fully go towards cancer research. Jimmy V Week began Tuesday and continues through Dec. 9. Join the conversation on social media using the hashtag #jimmyvweek.
