Tonight, Tim Duncan and the San Antonio Spurs will help tip off ESPN’s 2015-16 NBA regular-season coverage against the Oklahoma City Thunder (8 p.m. ET). The second game of the doubleheader will see the Los Angeles Lakers host the Minnesota Timberwolves at 10:30.
As a Wake Forest standout about 20 years ago, Duncan graced the covers of ESPN College Basketball on multiple occasions, including one of the regional covers of the premiere edition pictured above.
Part of a “Total Sports Magazines” package produced in conjunction with Hearst, ESPN College Basketball is representative of ESPN’s early foray into print media. Duncan also would later appear on the cover of ESPN The Magazine‘s special 10th anniversary issue in 2008.
