When the Formula 1 World Championship announced it was starting its season after a four-month delay due to the pandemic, things got busier for Curt Bell . . . and busier . . . and busier.

An associate manager in Programming, Bell is responsible for scheduling all Formula 1 content on ESPN’s linear platforms – not only races but also practice and qualifying sessions. He does the same for F1’s feeder series, including Formula 2, Formula 3, and Porsche Supercup that air on ESPN+ and ESPN3.

On top of that, Bell’s additional properties also have been ramping up as he schedules all pro basketball (NBA, WNBA, The Basketball Tournament, and more), all pro golf, and Bassmaster fishing events.

F1 returned to ESPN on July 5 in Austria. A revised schedule, the addition of some events, and the cancellation of others meant Bell had plenty of work to do to find time for the telecasts on ESPN’s networks. The Formula 1 Pirelli British Grand Prix airs Sunday, Aug. 2, at 9:05 a.m. ET on ESPN and ESPN Deportes.
