Last week, the Advertising Research Foundation hosted a virtual ceremony of the David Ogilvy Awards, honoring the best campaigns of 2020, those that exemplify the power of research and insights that drive successful marketing campaigns.
For the first time, ESPN swept the Sports, Media & Entertainment category taking home the gold, silver and bronze:
- Gold – “There’s No Place Like Sports” (ESPN)
- Silver – “We Love It Here” (SEC Network/ESPN)
- Bronze – “The Last Dance” (ESPN)
The work that was recognized represents a cross-section of what ESPN does best – and illustrates that no one understands fans better than ESPN. From the power of the ESPN brand to ignite the fan in all of us, to the love that fans feel for football and the SEC, to the best storytelling in sports that created a distinctive cultural moment at a time when fans needed storytelling most. It also serves as a reminder, especially in this unique time, why sports matter – and how ESPN makes a difference.
