Congratulations to Kati Fernandez, Director of Original Content & Integration, who was named to Sports Business Journal’s Voices Under 30 and Hispanic Executive Magazine’s NextGen Collective’s 30 Under 30.
SBJ’s Voices Under 30 recognizes rising leaders in sports business for their ability to stretch beyond the traditional roles within their organizations, break boundaries and take on additional responsibility.
NextGen Collective’s 30 Under 30 celebrates rising Latinx making an impact across multiple industries, including the Arts, Entertainment & Media, Community Activism, STEMS, and more.
Fernandez currently oversees the content development and integration group, which works internally and cross-departmentally to solidify the content strategy, launch, performance, and communication for all ESPN+ Original, ESPN+ Studio, ESPN Films, 30 for 30, Special Projects, and The Undefeated on ESPN+ series and films. Fernandez is also the co-chair for ESPN’s Multicultural Women’s Network which is an employee-led affinity group focused on connecting, developing, and elevating women of color.
Outside of work, Fernandez runs a non-profit in the Dominican Republic with her family called Lazos Al Futuro, which translates to “Tides to the Future.” This year her organization enrolled 30 incoming high school youth members in the Dominican Republic and is committed to mentoring and sponsoring their growth and education for the next four years.
Their goal is simple: Improve the graduation rates across high school and college in order to build the leaders of tomorrow. Her organization currently has two running offices in Santiago and Luperon, Puerto Plata in the Dominican Republic, and volunteer staff in the U.S and the D.R.
Outside of Lazos Al Futuro and her commitment to ESPN, Fernandez is serving a three-year term on the board of directors for the alumni association at the College of the Holy Cross.
