Wednesday night, ESPN continued its longstanding and well-documented history of broadcasting firsts. The Golden State Warriors versus Utah Jazz telecast was the first NBA game on a national scale featuring an all-women production crew.
Between the game site in Salt Lake City and ESPN’s control room in Bristol, Conn., 33 women who are ESPN staff and personnel played pivotal roles in airing the game. Play-by-play commentator Beth Mowins, analyst Doris Burke and reporter Lisa Salters were in front of the camera at the game; other women in the ESPN production and operations teams included the oordinating producer, producer, director, graphics producer, operations manager and technical director.
Here are some behind-the-scenes shots from ESPN Images photographers Allen Kee and Kelly Backus. For more information on the telecast, visit ESPN Press Room.
