Intern Chronicles: National Intern Day
EDITOR’S NOTE: Once again this summer, Front Row’s Intern Chronicles series showcases some of ESPN’s summer interns. For more information on ESPN Internships, visit the ESPN Careers site.
July 28 marks National Intern Day, and a few ESPN interns gathered on an exclusive Intern Podcast to talk about their individual experiences this summer.
When you think of the word “intern,” it can sometimes be seen as something small or insignificant, but to this group, it embodies more than just the textbook definition.
“To me, it boils down to two words — education and opportunity,” said ESPN Next Intern Derryl Barnes. He added, “We get first-hand, real-work experience.”
On the podcast, they discuss some of their most memorable moments from this summer and what they didn’t know coming into their internship but will now be able to apply to their future. From cutting clips, meeting their idols and receiving a family-like experience, the opportunity has been nothing short of amazing and one to remember.
This is only the beginning.
