Watch this exclusive clip from the film, which debuts tonight at 9 ET on ESPN; Lowe: ". . . Drama everywhere. I’m so happy to be a part of this look back at this epic moment in sports."
ESPN Films’ latest documentary, “Yankees-Dodgers: An Uncivil War” – set to debut tonight (9 ET, ESPN) – features a familiar voice to many.
Actor Rob Lowe is the narrator for the film, which looks back at the New York Yankees and Los Angeles Dodgers rivalry that consumed the baseball world in 1977 and 1978 when the two clubs squared off in back-to-back World Series.
Said Lowe: “I was lucky enough to be at Dodger Stadium watching [Yankees slugger] Reggie Jackson and [Dodgers hurler] Bob Welch in their epic faceoffs in this classic World Series. [Yankees owner George] Steinbrenner! [Yankees manager] Billy Martin! [Dodgers star Steve} GARVEY! Clubhouse brawls! Monstrous home runs! Drama everywhere. I’m so happy to be a part of this look back at this epic moment in sports.”
Above is an exclusive clip for the film, which is produced by Mark Shapiro and Peter Guber in association with FILM45, directed by Fritz Mitchell (“The Legend of Jimmy the Greek,” “Ghosts of Ole Miss”).
The film will be made available on ESPN+ immediately after its premiere.
