When Virginia Tech visits unbeaten, No. 22-ranked Duke on Saturday night in Durham, N.C. on ESPN2 (7 ET), quarterback Quentin Harris and his Blue Devils are under the national spotlight.
Among the millions of fans watching this ACC showdown will be his aunt, ESPN Vice President, Talent Management, Learning & Organization Development, Tonya Cornileus. Harris is the son of her brother Kevin Harris, a former star defensive back and teammate of Herschel Walker’s at the University of Georgia in the early 1980s.
Harris, a product of Taft School in Watertown, Conn., has started the last two games for Duke, completing 27-of-57 passes for 376 yards and six touchdowns. He was expected to make his third consecutive start Saturday in place of fellow redshirt junior quarterback Daniel Jones, who’s recovering from a fractured collarbone.
Saturday morning, Duke coach David Cutcliffe announced that Jones – who had surgery Sept. 9, the day after suffering his injury – would start against Virginia Tech.
